Jonathan Saunders showed last night at the Tate Modern, as I approached the entrance all was in eery darkness and everyone was whispering, we had to walk through the great Turbine Hall, murkily lit by a smoky beam of light, to get to the concrete and mirrored cave that was the Tanks Lobby for the show. The catwalk weaved in a triangular shape flanked by concrete benches giving everyone a fair view. The collection was full of deep, saturated colours with touches of summery pastels and a good dose of sequins. I particularly loved a matching cashmere cardi and pencil skirt that was carpeted in blood red sequins on the front and soft charcoal grey on the back, great for contrast style and practicality. Jonathan's signature bold prints were either full on or knocked back and paired with simple basic silhouettes. The shoes were simply perfect, I have a bit of a shoe fetish so had to stop myself just looking at the comfortable yet chic block heeled sandals by Louboutin.
